Shola Adelani of Ikorodu City and Adedayo Olamilekan of Remo Stars have expressed immense pride after earning places in the Super Eagles B squad for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Both players see the call-up as a pivotal step in their careers and a chance to chase continental success.

"It is a dream come true for me," said Adelani, recalling the moment he received confirmation from the Nigeria Football Federation. He praised head coach Eric Chelles demanding yet encouraging approach, noting, "if you are not a warrior you cant be a footballer."

Olamilekan spoke movingly of past setbacks at U17 and U23 levels. "I was dropped at the Under17 and Under23 camp… but I had to pick myself up," he said. Now, having earned coach Chelles trust, he declared firmly that the team isnt content with silver again "we are not just satisfied with placing second because we have our sight on the title."

We applaud Shola Adelani and Adedayo Olamilekan for embracing this moment with conviction and clarity. Their journey—from youth disappointments to senior call-up is a testament to resilience, discipline, and belief.

Coach Chelles message to speak as warriors resonates deeply. It speaks to a philosophy that values courage, persistence, and accountability. Adelanis admiration for that ethos shows he is not only a player but a student of the games mindset.

Olamilekans story matters too. In our view, setbacks at youth level are not dead ends—they are catalysts. His perseverance has earned this moment. For both players, seizing this opportunity can signal a broader message: with determination, the pathway to national representation is open.

Their ambition to lift the CHAN trophy reflects a collective hunger. Nigeria has previously finished second in 2018 and third in 2014. Now, with this squads blend of physicality, cohesion, and self-belief, we see real potential to break that pattern.

If Adelani and Olamilekan thrive, their rise could mark a shift: domestic league performers transforming into national heroes. We believe this squad has the character and energy to do just that.

From training ground to tournament pitch, this is their chance—and Nigerias moment—to turn ambition into achievement.
